A student who has successfully completed this module would be able to:
¿ interpret solar resource data and determine the influence of irradiation, positioning and tracking on energy yield,
¿ differentiate between and demonstrate an understanding of the differences between the different PV technologies,
¿ demonstrate an understanding of the influence of shading, panel mismatch and other influences on energy yield,
¿ size a PV array according to the customer load (including possible hybrid configurations with backup power),
¿ demonstrate an understanding of the operation of inverters and its application in PV systems,
¿ demonstrate an understanding of grid connection, cable sizing and protection design,
¿ demonstrate an understanding of metering, determine financial viability, and
¿ demonstrate an understanding of application processes
