Objectives:

¿ To understand the nature of ethnographic research as a set of approaches to qualitative research on/with people, their interactions, social structures and systems of meaning;
¿ To acquaint you with a variety of qualitative research methods and techniques;
¿ To introduce you to current debates concerning some of the core concepts fundamental to the understanding of ethnographic research;
¿ To get some practical experience in ethnographic research; and
¿ To provide a basis for the development of the methodological dimensions of the research project for the thesis component of the qualification.
