Objectives:

The goal of this course is to increase the understanding and practice of leadership for learning and innovation. In this learning process there is a focus on leadership concepts, challenges and competencies in general. The aspects are then connected to strategy, change and innovation. Finally there is a focus on creativity and entrepreneurship. All of the learning and teaching is contextualised within governance, public management and service delivery set of contexts. In pursuing this goal the following objectives are set:
Participants will:
Be introduced to the literature on leadership in order to enhance an understanding of leadership concepts and theories;
Be required to read, understand and internalise knowledge in respect of various leadership approaches as it relates to:
An improved understanding of their leadership roles in general and specifically in relation to leading strategy, change and innovation. Participants will:
Be provided with an opportunity to:
Assess their own leadership and personal styles to:
Understand themselves and the impact of their leadership competencies linked to innovative leadership;
Be facilitated in interactive and active learning processes in respect of leadership strategies and strategic leadership in contexts demanding change and innovation;
Learn and practice new skills in order to start to cultivate leadership capacities and competencies for innovative and change leadership.
