Objectives:

He or she must understand the importance of creating proper root systems as well as the maintenance thereof. The aim of this course is to teach the student the basic principles of viticulture to enable the production of wine grapes for the making of good wine. The maintenance of proper bud-fertility through the application of correct long and short term practices is vitally important. To meet this objective, the student needs knowledge of the contribution of each cultivation practice. At the same time he/she must obtain good knowledge of training vines with proper shapes so that yields of desired quantity and quality can be produced over the lifespan of the vineyards.
