There are many stakeholders in the circular economy. All contribute to dissipation of exergy and therefore also to the efficiency of the system. HSC Sim will be used in an interactive manner to simulate sections of the circular economy. Participants will systematically create a recycling system of an end-of-life module/material including physical separation/or dismantling, pyro- and hydrometallurgy as well as alloying, residue processing as well as energy recovery. The objective is to create digital twins using a mix of various tools and to show how to quantify the inefficiency of the system and thence also for example to estimate the recyclability of designed products and associated footprints. This will include at least FactSage, HSC Sim, Exergy analysis, LCA analysis, but also touching on how to use AI to obtain an optimal digital twin for a system.
