Objectives:

To understand the architecture, essential content and process of a Mindfulness-Based Intervention
To develop an understanding of the metastructure of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme as the foundation for all mindfulness-based interventions (MBI¿s)
To develop a basic understanding of how the curriculum builds on itself through the interaction of meditation practices, inquiry and didactic input
To develop an understanding of the rationale behind the use and integration of core elements of the curriculum in MBSR
To develop an understanding of weekly themes in MBSR
To develop a basic understanding of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and the similarities and differences between MBSR and MBCT
To develop a basic insight into the intent and nature of the Enquiry process
To develop some knowledge of the evidence-base for the effectiveness of MBSR and MBCT
To begin exploring the guiding of formal mindfulness practices
