Objectives:
To enable Registrars (MMed candidates), Medical Officers and other novice clinician researchers who are ready to begin or are in the process of drafting a quantitative or qualitative clinical research protocol, to:1. Learn the basic concepts of research methodology (quantitative and/or qualitative);
2. Learn about the components required in a research protocol, suitable for divisional/departmental approval and/or ethics approval in the South African context; and to
3. Learn how to draft the different sections of a research protocol.
