Biomatrix Organisation Design

Estimated cost: R10 001 – R20 000
Field Of Study: Executive Development
Department Name: USB-ED

In open courses they choose one of the business activity systems of their organisation as a case study. In inhouse courses they work with their work function and / or an assigned business function.
They redesign the case study function into an efficient supply chain and effective value chain and the organisation into a matrix-based and coordinated learning organisation that is able to adapt creatively to a continuously changing environment in a sustainable manner.
Completing the course prepares the participant to become a Learning Facilitator in a delivery of the Biomatrix Organisation Transformation Programme to their organisation. It also enables them to act as internal consultant in other organisation development related change interventions of their organisation. The Biomatrix Course on Sustainable Design: Organisation (Re)Design teaches the generic principles of how systems are organised and how these principles need to be applied in order to create and implement a sustainable system design and dissolve complex problems.
Participants learn about the (un)sustainability of systems and the role of limits, structure and stakeholder coproduction
in it and gain a (w)holistic worldview, systems thinking skills and creativity in general.
They also learn about the design, development and transformation of different types of systems, namely of the
¿ entity system as three-dimensional matrix organisation and
¿ activity system as supply and value chain.
They apply this knowledge to the (re)design of a case study entity system and a case study activity system. In both, open and in-house courses, the participants use the organisation of which they are part as the case study entity system.
