Engaging youth, church and social Justice

Estimated cost: R1001 – R5000
Field Of Study: Theology

Objectives:

South Africa's youth have been critique as either disengaged from conventional forms of political participation or likely to engage in protest and political violence. These youth have challenged the church towards engaging and equipping them to theologically engage issues connected to a socially unjust society. Against the historical background and legacy of inequality in South Africa, this short course focuses on how theological education equips and prepares youth, those who work alongside them and faith communities to engage with the carrying levels of injustice faced by youth in this country. It aims at developing young Christian leaders who feel torn between their faith and their context towards engaging their contexts. It is anticipated that this short course will play a pivotal role in the formation of youth and the way they engage with church and society.
