Objectives:

To equip course participants with enhanced competencies to:

1. Understand the meaning, the theories behind, constitutional obligations and international law compliance requirements regarding the advancement of good governance. 2. Be equipped with sound knowledge on global discourses on governance, democracy, the rule of law, separation of powers and sustainable developments and apply knowledge in everyday leadership challenges in public governance. 3. Lead transformation programmes in compliance with the constitutional commitment to democratic governance and ensure institutional awareness of applicable jurisprudence particularly as relating to financial management, administrative justice, human rights and sustainable development. 4. Employ analytical frameworks, including data analytics, to review and design laws and polies that foster social justice outcomes in line with the constitutional equality duty characteristics of good governance as outlines by the United Nations. 5. Command adequate understanding of the SDGs and leverage the opportunities they offer, including the use of disaggregated data, to catalyse social justice progress through Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) and other public policy development contexts.
