Introduction to Oenology for the PYDA

Objectives:

The Pinotage Youth Development Academy has been a Community Interaction partner of the Department of Viticulture and Oenology (DVO) since 2011. We have supported them since their inception in facilitation as part of our departmental CI requirements, and have developed training material specifically for the Academy that is not available elsewhere in the wine industry. Some of the SAQA unit standards are available but are set at too low a level (all the participants have matric), or the unit standards do not exist. There is a need to formalise the arrangement so we would like to register the training as a bespoke short course with six components.
