The goals of MMED are for participants to be able to effectively:
¿ Explain dynamic principles and their role in the epidemiology of infectious diseases
¿ Create a model world to address a research question
¿ Describe and compare diverse modeling frameworks
¿ Understand how to implement simple models
¿ Explain and apply the conceptual framework for fitting models to data, and implement technical methods for simple model-fitting problems
¿ Understand fundamental principles in statistics including bias, inference and variance
¿ Understand key principles of study design and data collection
¿ Communicate about research with those outside their discipline
¿ Organize international, interdisciplinary collaborations to produce research products (oral presentation and written report) on a given timeline
