The overall objectives of this course are to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to manage pests in a sustainable, effective, and economically viable way. The course is designed to build a strong foundation of the core principles of IPM and emphasizes accurate pest identification, monitoring, and assessment to support informed decision-making. Participants will learn how to integrate cultural, physical, biological, and chemical control measures into a holistic strategy that reduces reliance on pesticides while safeguarding human health, beneficial organisms, and the environment. Through practical examples and case studies, the course highlights how IPM contributes to resilient production systems, long-term profitability, and ecological sustainability. In addition, participants will become familiar with best practices, safety standards, and relevant legislations to support responsible and globally aligned pest management practices.
