This short course is designed for a broad audience, including students, non-practitioners, practitioners, and professionals who want to develop a practical understanding of both the fundamental and more advanced aspects of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using QGIS. The course is structured into progressive modules, each supported by guided exercises of increasing complexity. These exercises build on one another to equip participants with the confidence and competence to use QGIS effectively for real-world geospatial tasks.
The course aims to:
1. Demonstrate the value and capability of GIS for conducting both basic and advanced geospatial analysis using QGIS.
2. Develop a solid foundation in key GIS concepts and terminology.
3. Familiarise participants with the core and advanced tools, features, and workflows available in QGIS.
4. Enable participants to apply critical GIS tools in QGIS to solve practical spatial problems across different contexts.
