Introduction to Practical Lexicography

The main objectives of the short course are that participants should:
– Have a better understanding of dictionary planning and making
– Have a better understanding of how lexicographic theory and practice overlaps
– Have an understanding of the different types of dictionaries
– Have an understanding of of the different types of tools used in dictionary compilation and editing
– Have an understanding of different processes involved in lexicography
– Acquire and practise practical elements of dictionary making
After the course, participants should be able to approach future lexicographic tasks with more confidence.
