Objectives:

This short course will review the unique features of delivering healthcare in rural communities, including discussion of the concept of rurality and the geographic, social, cultural and economic context of rural people. It follows the Community- Oriented Primary Care (COPC) approach an approach to primary healthcare that has its origins in a rural African context. This short course integrates a range of social innovation principles and methods, including design thinking, to better equip students to leverage the opportunities within their contexts to deliver effective collaborative healthcare.
