Objectives:

The objective of this one-day short course is to equip farm owners, managers, supervisors, and staff with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully navigate the global market by meeting rigorous food standards and specifications. The course will specifically focus on the GlobalGAP Certification, with a special emphasis on Produce Handling, a recognized food standard known for its contributions to food safety and sustainability. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Global G.A.P principles, food hygiene, and Good Agricultural Practice standards. Additionally, they will learn about the benefits of implementing these standards and the steps required to become a certified producer. The course also aims to provide insights into the factors that differentiate products in the market, including visual appeal, sensory attributes, and post-harvest quality.
