Basic Applied Psychometrics

Objectives:

The objective of the course is therefore to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills in psychometrics required for admission to the BPsych Equivalent programme at Stellenbosch University. Successful completion of the short course ensures that the applicant is seen as a qualifying candidate, with respect to Psychometrics, but does not guarantee selection. Background:

The BPsych Equivalent programme (code 3877), presented by the Department of Industrial Psychology at Stellenbosch University, leads to statutory registration as Psychometrist (Independent Practice) after successful completion of the professional board examination. The minimum admission criteria for the BPsych Equivalent programme at Stellenbosch University includes an Honours degree in Psychology, with 65% in Applied Assessment and Psychometrics. The Basic Applied Psychometrics short course serves as a bridging course for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the BPsych Equivalent programme in terms of the Psychometrics module. Main objectives:
