Objectives:

Trellis systems, vine development and pruning: To describe, demonstrate and explain trellis systems, vine development and pruning systems. Establishment: To describe and demonstrate practices relating to the establishment of a vineyard. Industry overview: To provide an overview of climate and other requirements for table and raisin grape production, as well as an overview of table grape production in SA and the world. Dormancy: To explain grapevine dormancy and dormancy management practices. Grapevine structure and seasonal cycle; To provide an overview of the grapevine plant structure and seasonal cycle, to lay a foundation for scheduling and applying viticultural practices.
